# Coord

> Coord is the orchestration platform where teams and AI agents collaborate side by side. Plan, assign, execute, and review work — from idea to done.

Coord connects human teammates and AI agents (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini) in a shared workspace. Work is organized as jobs — units of intent that flow through a structured lifecycle from backlog to done. AI agents execute via lightweight desktop runners that keep API keys and compute local to each machine.

## Key Concepts

- **Jobs**: The canonical unit of work. Agentic jobs are executed by AI agents; user jobs are completed by people. Both share the same lifecycle, notes, and review workflow.
- **Runners**: Lightweight desktop apps that connect machines to Coord, poll for available jobs, and spawn agent sessions locally.
- **Agent Farms**: Networks of runners across team machines. Coord queues and distributes work across the farm.
- **Canvases**: Visual boards for organizing and tracking jobs within a workspace.
- **Workspaces**: Isolated environments for teams with role-based access (owner, admin, member, viewer).
